Stay With Me
Alex and Simon are twins living in rural Britain. Their 18th birthday is approaching. As the family return from their summer holiday, there is a fatal accident. Simon is rushed to hospital, where he eventually passes away due to his injuries. As Alex is returning to college in early September (3 weeks after Simon's death), she starts day dreaming about Simon and sees him in both her dreams, and her everyday life.
On their birthday, Alex has a nightmare where she sees Simon murder someone. The next morning, a news story reporting a very similar death to the one she saw in her dream is broadcast on the television.
She tells her parents that she is seeing Simon, and they become concerned for her. Over the next few days, Alex has more nightmares about Simon, and more people in the area are dying in similar fashions. She eventually realises that all of the deaths are taking place on the same road as their accident. The next time Alex sees Simon, she calls out to him, telling him that she know what he is doing, but to no avail. Alex then tells her parents that it must be Simon who is killing these people, and they decide to send Alex to a doctor to seek help. Much to their surprise, the doctor concludes that there is nothing seriously wrong with Alex, but gives her some pills to take which will help her to sleep easier.
Alex then realises that if Simon really is killing these people, and it's not just a dream, then she could somehow catch Simon in the act. So, she sets up a camera in her bedroom to record overnight.
That night, Alex has a dream where instead of killing someone, Simon writes a message on a wall. The next morning, she looks back at the recording, and instead of Simon, she sees herself write the exact words on the wall.
Alex then becomes aware of the fact that it is not Simon that is killing... It's her. So, in order to save the people that are still alive, and in order to stop Simon from tormenting her, she concludes that she must end her life, to keep Simon at peace in the afterlife.
Characters:
Simon & Alex
Twins. They share a special bond. When Simon dies, Alex wants to move on, but she is haunted by an apparition of Simon. Simon in life took care of her sister and did what ever he could to get her what she wanted. In death, he has very much the same outlook on life, except now no one can stop him from 'taking care' of Alex and everyone she loves.
Alex loved Simon deeply, and sometimes questioned his methods of 'devotion'. Once he dies she just wants to move on, but Simon won't let that happen. His presence makes her loose track of what happens in her every day life, and the only thing she can concentrate on is allowing Simon to rest in peace.
